In the Nizhny Novgorod region, an explosion was prevented at a petrochemical enterprise, two immigrants from Central Asia who were preparing it on the instructions of a Ukrainian curator were neutralized during an attempt to detain. "In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a sabotage and terrorist act was prevented, planned by the Ukrainian special services with the participation of two immigrants from Central Asia - adherents of the ideology of an international terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation," the report says.
According to the FSB, "acting on the instructions of the Ukrainian curator, foreign citizens seized FPV drones with improvised explosive devices from the cache to commit a sabotage and terrorist act at one of the petrochemical industry enterprises in the region. During the detention, they put up armed resistance and were neutralized by return fire."
Two UAVs with foreign-made explosive warheads, a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Makarov pistol were seized at the scene.
"Correspondence with the curator was found in the phones of the criminals, indicating the preparation of a sabotage and terrorist act, as well as the coordinates of a cache with weapons of destruction and firearms," the center said.
The investigative department of the FSB in the Nizhny Novgorod region opened a criminal case on the fact of preparation for sabotage. The necessary operational and investigative measures and investigative actions are being carried out.
