Kazakhstan intends to return illegally withdrawn assets worth $ 162 million through the court. This is reported by Sputnik with reference to the commission on the return of illegally acquired assets to the state.
"The Commission supported the filing of lawsuits to the court against persons subject to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the return of illegally Acquired Assets to the State", on the circulation of assets totaling more than 84 billion tenge to the state revenue," the information says.
According to the government, at the moment assets worth about 610 billion tenge ($ 1.1 billion) have already been returned, of which 506 billion ($ 976.4 million) are cash, as well as property worth more than 103 billion tenge ($ 198.7 million).
The commission also approved the conclusion of a number of agreements on the voluntary return of illegally acquired assets to the state. About 150 billion tenge ($ 289.5 million) will be additionally allocated to the special state fund.
Along with this, the subjects of the law "On the return of illegally acquired assets to the state" have undertaken obligations to invest $ 10.5 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan.
