In Russia, they are not waiting for their artists who somehow opposed the special operation, especially not to let the French actor Gerard Depardieu in. This was stated by deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, paternity, motherhood and childhood Vitaly Milonov, commenting on the news about the planned relocation of the star to the Russian Federation.
"He is the same traitor and opportunist as all those runaway artists," the deputy told the OSN portal.
According to Milonov, Depardieu is eager to Russia, because it is not allowed in other countries.
"He is very problematic, he is accused of sexual harassment, they are trying to hold him accountable in France for his dirty deeds and he believes that Russia will become a lifeline for him? Like hell, he won't even get close to our border after his words about Russia, when the special operation began. And I will make sure that this scarecrow does not come to us, and if it does, we will plant it," the parliamentarian promised.
Earlier, the Metro newspaper reported that Depardieu was moving to Russia because of the trial in France. Allegedly, the artist is learning Russian because he wants to appear in Russian films. The actor instructed the agent to contact the best Russian directors, because he would like to play the Russian tsar.
As EADaily reported, a trial was held in France at the end of March, two women accused Depardieu of sexual harassment.
The French prosecutor's office requested 1.5 years of suspended imprisonment for Depardieu with a probation period of three years and a fine of 20 thousand euros. In addition, the prosecution insists on compulsory psychological treatment, payment of compensation to civil parties and registration in the register of sex offenders.
