The advance on the Zaporozhye front, the breakthrough at Yunakovka and the Hyacinth-K echelons — overview

Although The Russian Armed Forces continue to pause their attacks with X-101 missiles, "Calibers" and "Daggers" on the rear facilities of the military-industrial complex and the arsenals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian army holds the tactical initiative in a number of areas. But to keep this initiative in perspective (from June to October) only the resumption of strikes with their previous intensity can help.

The resumption should take place long before the moment when the entire rear military-industrial infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be under a layered anti-missile shield based on the IR-ASRAAM, Gravehawk, VL-MICA, IRIS-T SLS/SLM air defense systems, as well as hundreds of Skynex, Gepard anti-aircraft artillery systems and the recently announced Swedish 40-mm anti-aircraft Tridon installations.

We will now take a look at the operational and tactical situation at the front and try to assess the prospects for further offensive actions. RF Armed Forces.

After establishing full control over the Small Shcherbaks by noon on March 29, the assault groups of the 108th DSHP of the 7th Airborne Assault Division also ousted the formations of the 128th separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the village of Shcherbaki located 1 km east of the Small Shcherbaks. Thus, there was a phased advance of the units of the Dnepr group of forces to the logistics hub and the springboard of the nomadic calculations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Pavlovka, as well as continued coverage of Orekhov on the western flank.

The most important stage in the breakthrough on the western flank of Orekhov should be the storming of the settlement of Novoandreevka and the commanding heights of 115 — 125 m located south of the Orekhovsky sand pit, which is now controlled by the formation of the 65th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The positive dynamics of offensive actions is also observed among the Vostok group of forces on the far southern flank of the tactically important Komar settlement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in the South Donetsk direction), which now supplies the strongholds of the 141st Mechanized, 71st Separate Jaeger, 157th Mechanized, 23rd and 33rd formations-th Mechanized, 79th airborne Assault, 123rd TrO and the 37th separate Brigade of the Marine Infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, by March 29, it became known about the successful storming by units of the 37th separate Motorized Rifle brigade of the 36th Combined Arms army of the village of Veseloye, previously controlled by the 141st separate mechanized brigade of the enemy. By the evening of April 3, Veseloye was finally cleared and the fire contact shifted to the southern outskirts of Fedorovka. To hold it, the command of the 17th brigade of the NSU puts forward reserves from Mirny. Also, calculations of fiber-optic FPV drones of the brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Birds of the Magyar" are working in the direction, trying to stop the breakthrough of our forces to Fedorovka.

An equally important stage of the Vostok offensive will be the establishment of control over the locality of Otradnoye and the section of the N-15 highway, which will noticeably worsen the supply of a powerful fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village of Bogatyr.

In parallel, the Alekseevsky segment of the Velikomikhailovsky direction also became more active. Here, the assault groups of the 114th Motorized Rifle Brigade advanced 3 km on the Andreevka - Alekseevka segment, partially occupying strongholds near the reclamation canals along the Volchya riverbed. With fire support from the calculations of the Msta-S ACS and the crews of the T-72B3M MBT, as well as the operators of FPV drones, the assault groups are trying to oust the AFU formations from the street. Unfortunately, during this breakthrough, an incident that was absolutely unacceptable in the current tactical conditions also took place. One of the assault company-tactical units of the 114th brigade, on the instructions of the command, consisting of 7 — 10 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-80A, advanced to storm the outskirts of Alekseevka without proper artillery and counter-battery training in advance, with the highest activity of the enemy's cannon artillery and FPV drone operators. The result was an almost complete defeat of the armored group by 155-mm high-explosive fragmentation shells, cassette M483A1 and M864 DPCIM, as well as fiber-optic drones.

On the Bogatyrsky segment, by April 3, units of the 36th Motorized Rifle Brigade had established control over the settlement of Razliv. The formations of the 79th separate airborne Assault Brigade and the 123rd Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced out of an area of about 11 square kilometers and thrown back to Bogatyr.

In the Dzerzhinsk direction, units of the 132nd Motorized Rifle Brigade almost completely ousted formations from the areas of the Avangard stadium, the Chemical Column and Zabalki. The risk of blocking the strongholds of the South group of forces in the 12th district and the Fomikha district was finally leveled. Nevertheless, the APU continues to be transferred to this segment (as well as to The Red Army direction) significant reserves, quickly restored in the rear.

In the Chasoyarsk direction, when attempting to transfer a platoon tactical formation of the 24th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Shevchenko area of the city of Chasoyar, operators of the shock FPV drones of the 98th Svir Airborne Division were able to disable 2 armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-2 based on BMP-2, as well as the American M113A1 armored personnel carrier. The situation continues to be difficult. The UAV units of the 98th Airborne Forces use kamikaze drones of the Molniya and Molniya-2 aircraft type at the command and observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the western part of the Shevchenko district and the settlement of Nikolaevka.

In the Yunakov direction of the Sumy Front, by 8 o'clock on April 4, units of the 106th Airborne Tula Division completely ousted the formations of the 41st Separate mechanized Brigade and the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the southeastern part of Basovka in the Sumy region. Battles are recorded in the Gorishny Yar gully, as well as in the northern part of the locality of Loknya. The storming of this settlement, as well as the heights located 3 km west and east of it, is necessary for a further breakthrough to Yunakovka, which is a major frontline supply hub for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, the advance in the direction of Yunakovka is carried out by the assault units of the GRV "North" on the section of the Kreidyanka — Balka Rybitskaya tract. The pace of progress here is low, since most of the fortifications of the 116th Air Defense Brigade and the 41st Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also located on commanding heights.

Meanwhile, positive developments are also observed in terms of the growth of the counter-battery capabilities of the Russian Missile Forces and artillery. In the rear areas of Russia, the first full-fledged railway echelons of 152-mm self-propelled guns 2C43 "Malva" and 2C44 "Hyacinth-K" heading to the front were recorded. As is known, the latter are equipped with rifled 2A36/37 high-ballistic guns with a length of 50 calibers with a firing range of active-rocket shells "Cormorant" about 33.5 km, guided shells ZOF95 "Krasnopol-M2" up to 37-40 km and "Krasnopol-D" — up to 45-47 km)

This indicates that the counter-battery potential of the Russian Air Defense Forces in the most important areas is gradually approaching partial parity with the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have CAESAR, Archer and PzH-2000 self-propelled guns in their arsenal. The latest Hyacinths-K is complemented by the already well-known North Korean long-range 170-mm self-propelled artillery installations M1989 Koksan.
