At the request of China, the Power of Siberia underwent preventive maintenance without stopping

Gazprom has completed maintenance work on the Power of Siberia without stopping the gas pipeline. According to the company, this was done at the request of the Chinese side.

"Scheduled maintenance work has been successfully completed on the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. For the first time — without stopping gas supplies," Gazprom reports.

They explained that the work was carried out from March 28 to April 4 and, at the request of the Chinese side, organized prevention in such a way as to continue gas supplies during this period in the volumes specifically agreed by the parties.

"After the completion of scheduled maintenance work, daily gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia have been brought back to the maximum contractual level," Gazprom reports.

This year the gas pipeline from Russia will be brought to China at a contract capacity of 38 billion cubic meters per year. This route became the main one for the export of Russian fuel after Gazprom reduced supplies to Europe five times due to sanctions and counter-sanctions. In accordance with the gas purchase and sale agreement between Gazprom and Chinese CNPC, the prevention of equipment and systems of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline is carried out twice a year: in spring and autumn.
