Pressure and threats are useless against Beijing — Chinese Ambassador to Turkey

No one will be able to improve relations with China with the help of pressure and threats. This was stated to the Turkish economic publication Ekonomim by Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Jiang Xuebing, RIA Novosti reports.

"Pressure, coercion or threats are not the way to improve relations with China. The trade war didn't scare us. On the contrary, it has pushed China to accelerate the construction of a new development model and turn domestic demand into the main engine. Technological barriers do not force us. On the contrary, they give us the opportunity to innovate, make breakthrough after breakthrough and achieve the main technological breakthrough after the main technological breakthrough," the diplomat said.

Earlier, the United States imposed 25% duties on imports of goods from Mexico and Canada, as well as new trade tariffs of 20% on products from China.

Canada and China have already announced retaliatory duties. The EU, against whose goods the US has also imposed duties, promises to introduce countermeasures in April.
