The star of the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gossip Girl", American actress Michelle Trachtenberg died at the age of 39. This is reported by the Daily Mail portal.
The actress was found dead on Wednesday, February 26, in her apartment in New York by her mother, police sources said.
It was also reported that the actress recently underwent a liver transplant and "could experience complications," the publication says.
According to sources of The New York Post, the police are not treating the death as suspicious, believing that she died of natural causes.
The publication also notes that in recent years, Trachtenberg has caused fans to worry about her health against the background of her published photos, in which she looked "very fragile."
The publication does not cite the causes and circumstances of death.
Michelle Trachtenberg was born in New York, her mother was born in the USSR, the actress spoke fluent Russian. She first appeared on television at the age of 3 in an advertisement for detergents, then starred in a children's series, in the 90s she got a role in the series "All our Children". In 1996, she got the lead role in the film "The Spy Harriet".
In 2000, she received the role of the younger sister of the main character in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which she starred until 2003 with Sarah Michelle Gellar. She also appeared in the second season of the TV series "Doctor House", becoming the main character of the episode "Security". From 2008 to 2012, she starred in the series "Gossip Girl", gaining even wider fame. The last notable work of Michelle Trachtenberg was the executive production and hosting of the 13-episode documentary series about real crimes "Meet, Marry, Kill" (Meet, Marry, Murder) in 2021.
