Three unknown devices, two of which exploded, were thrown this morning, February 24, on the territory of the Consulate General of Russia in Marseille.
"Three devices were abandoned, two exploded, sappers are working with one now, there are no casualties or damage," the Russian Consulate General told TASS.
As reported by EADaily, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, previously noted that "explosions on the territory of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Marseille has all the signs of a terrorist attack." She noted that Moscow demanded from Paris "prompt investigative measures, as well as steps to strengthen the security of Russian foreign missions."
According to the BFMTV channel, the incident occurred at about 08.00 local time. The correspondent of the magazine Valeurs Actuelles reported that, probably, unknown persons threw two incendiary vessels into the garden on the territory of the consulate. A stolen car was found near the scene of the incident.
