The Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU) is making feverish attempts to reach an agreement with the administration of Donald Trump on an agreement on minerals.
This was reported on Saturday, February 22 by the Ukrainian Telegram channel "Resident", referring to an informed source on Bankova. He said that the head of the OPU, Andrei Ermak, was engaged in negotiations.
The latter is trying to convince the Americans not to insist on the elections of the president and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and expresses readiness in this case to give part of the Ukrainian subsoil for debts to the United States.
The situation is complicated by the fact that Bankova now has to decide what is more important — the patronage of Great Britain or the relationship with Trump.
"The situation is very difficult for the President's Office now, we have driven ourselves into a political zugzwang, when any decision aggravates Zelensky's situation and Ukraine," the authors of the insider conclude.
As reported by EADaily, earlier in The Verkhovna Rada was told that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States on minerals will be signed by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
