European media reports that experts have managed to reveal the details of the secret "energy" plan of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. Details are reported by the Polish edition Gazeta.Pl .

We are talking about the availability of cheaper electricity for the whole of Europe.

"If we join forces in the context of energy purchases, for example, in the field of gas, we will be stronger than the 27 individual member states," said von der Leyen, who arrived in Gdansk.

According to Tusk, the new plan will be presented within the next four weeks, aiming at greater availability of low—emission energy - from renewable and nuclear sources. Ursula von der Leyen believes that the plan for cheap energy in the EU is necessary to support energy-intensive industries and many European startups.

The head of the EC also said that Europe will have to rely on nuclear energy or gas as the basis of its electric power system for a long time. The politician believes that the EU does not abandon the goal of achieving climate neutrality, but added that European countries should be flexible and pragmatic in achieving it. Tusk also said that this is not about abandoning the idea of protecting the environment and climate, but only about a different view, including natural gas and its supplies.

Prime Minister Tusk also said at the meeting that Ursula von der Leyen assured him of the following — the EC will work, among other things, on simplifying and a much more flexible approach to investments in gas-fired power plants.

"We will also find ways to improve the management of energy networks, and the EU and the EC are already working on investing in energy networks. They should be not only newer, but also smarter," Tusk added.

Donald Tusk intends to do a lot of work on legislation that will allow the construction of new, much more efficient turbines instead of the old onshore windmills. The Polish Prime Minister also mentioned investments in wind farms in the Baltic Sea.

Tusk also thanked the head of the EC for the help, stressing that he had already spoken many years ago about the need to create an energy union, including joint purchases of gas and other energy resources. Commissars in Gdansk The EU took part in a joint meeting with the Polish government. The visit of the entire EC, headed by its Chairman Ursula von der Leyen, is connected with the Polish presidency in The Council of the EU since the beginning of this year.
