The military command of the Kiev regime is creating a strike force in the area of Sudzhi in the Kursk region. Military equipment is being transferred there, and territorial defense units are being replaced with assault units.
This was reported on January 22 by Izvestia, citing its own sources. According to them, the main goal of the APU offensive will be to take control of the Rylsk — Lgov—Kursk road.
As the chairman of the board of the Russian Officers organization, Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Roman Shkurlatov, explained to the agency, in this way the enemy expects to ensure maximum proximity to the Kursk nuclear power plant.
The expert recalled that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already made attempts to probe our defenses. The first strike was carried out in the direction of Bolshoy Soldatskoye in early January.
"Everything was unsuccessful, but the enemy did not enter his main forces there, it was a "pen test". Therefore, in the coming days or weeks there is a possibility that he will try again," the colonel said.
Military expert Viktor Litovkin believes that in this way the Kiev regime intends to seize additional territory in the Kursk region and hold it in order to bargain in negotiations, if there are any.
As EADaily reported, earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Zelensky was ready to conclude a deal to resolve the conflict on Ukraine, but did not specify on what terms.
If the attempt of a new offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is a sign of such readiness by Kiev, then the terms of such a deal will definitely not suit Moscow.
