A Russian citizen recruited by the special services of Ukraine arrived in Moscow under the guise of a deportee to blow up one of the high-ranking leaders of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in a company car.
According to the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia, "it was established that in November 2024, a citizen of the Russian Federation recruited by the Ukrainian special services as the perpetrator of a terrorist act arrived in Moscow from Ukraine under the guise of a deported person in transit through Moldova and Georgia." It is specified that since 2020 he has been permanently residing on Ukraine.
A Ukrainian agent in the capital region seized an improvised explosive device and a video surveillance system from a cache.
"An explosive device disguised as a powerbank with magnets attached had to be placed under the official car of one of the high-ranking leaders of the Russian Ministry of Defense, whose driver was his close relative," the FSB said.
According to the agency, the Ukrainian special services planned to detonate an explosive device remotely from the territory of Ukraine.
"The coordination of the preparation of the terrorist attack, in addition to the curators from the special services, was also carried out through the recruited wife of the arrived agent, who lives in Mirgorod, Poltava region of Ukraine," the center said.
It is also indicated that after the terrorist attack, the Ukrainian special services planned to provide their agent with a trip to Ukraine, and then to one of the EU countries.
As reported by EADaily, on December 17 in Moscow, an explosion occurred early in the morning in the courtyard of a residential building on Ryazansky Avenue, as a result of the terrorist attack, the head of the Russian Defense Forces, Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov and his adjutant Major Ilya Polikarpov were killed. A citizen of Uzbekistan, Ahmad Kurbanov, planted a bomb in a scooter standing at the entrance, which detonated when the officers left the house. Kurbanov, according to the FSB, was recruited by the Ukrainian special services. For committing a terrorist attack, he was promised 100 thousand dollars and a trip to one of the EU countries.
