Russia is close to creating an even more effective missile than the Oreshnik — Karakaev

The grouping of the Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces) as part of the Strategic Nuclear Forces of the Russian Federation is guaranteed to ensure the solution of the tasks of nuclear deterrence.

This was stated by the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev, in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper on the occasion of the Russia of the Strategic Missile Forces Day.

He stressed that the facilities of the American missile defense system (ABM) in Romania and Poland is not able to withstand our hypersonic missiles. The general added that the Russian Federation is close to creating missiles no less effective than the Hazel.

The commander said that the launches of these missiles to the maximum range are already planned as part of state tests of promising missile systems.

"In modern Russia, such launches were carried out at the maximum range in order to assess the compliance of their characteristics with the specified requirements. They are carried out in the Pacific Ocean," Karakayev said.

He expressed confidence that there is no place left on the planet "where our missiles will not reach."

"As part of the state flight tests of promising missile systems, missile launches at maximum range are also planned," the general added.

Sergey Karakaev also announced the development of new types of warheads for intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), including the Avangard hypersonic unit and the Oreshnik hypersonic equipment. The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces drew attention to the fact that this is only part of the developments that have not been reported before.

Earlier, EADaily reported that in the near future, the Oreshnik missile system should be put into mass production. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense, which is being held at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation.
