The Finnish Ministry of Defense ordered citizens to leave residential buildings adjacent to strategically important military facilities. Houses are subject to demolition.
We are talking about real estate in the areas adjacent to the airport in Lapland, as well as secret bases in Tikkakoski and Jyvaskyla (central Finland). People will have to leave their semi-detached and terraced apartments within six months. The reason is "the strategically important location of the districts," according to Finnish radio Yule. Termination of contracts concerns over 60 houses and more than 120 people.
Most of the residents who received papers on the termination of contracts are surprised and shocked by this decision.
Tikkakoski, in particular, has a military intelligence center specializing in monitoring various types of signals coming from Russia. The journalists covering the case were brought to court for disclosing confidential information.
