The film crew of journalist and blogger Alexei Pivovarov* and journalist of Hook.report Feride Makhsetova were detained in Nukus (the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in Uzbekistan). The reason for the detention was a statement written by a certain resident of the city.

"As I have already said, we are now in Uzbekistan. When we were in Nukus, we were invited to a conversation by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We talked, told about ourselves and our plans, the staff were polite and correct. We're moving on now. Everything is fine," Pivovarov wrote* in his telegram channel.

The journalist also thanked everyone who was worried and worried.

According to the Hook.report portal, they are now heading to the airport to check in for a flight to Tashkent. At the same time, the portal adds in its telegram channel that all the materials filmed about Karakalpakstan were seized from journalists by law enforcement officers.

Earlier, the territorial department of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications in Karakalpakstan reported that a preliminary check established that the activities of foreign journalists were carried out without first obtaining accreditation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is a violation of current legislation.

The Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan said that, if necessary, it will provide Russian citizens with the necessary support.
