Escaped from Russian fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev admitted that he does not miss his native country, and there are specific Russian food products all over the world.

When asked what he particularly misses, Vasiliev replied: "Absolutely nothing."

"If I need some specific products, there are pickled cucumbers and cottage cheese in all countries of the world," he assured.

In his opinion, there is no reason for nostalgia when you can see the whole world.

"The world is big. When you have Venice in front of your eyes, when you have Paris, Barcelona in front of your eyes, when you see the great Istanbul, how can you be bored?" — the fashion historian does not understand the question.

As EADaily reported, despite the fact that the whole world is open to Vasiliev, after his departure he actively tried to get a job in Russia. At the end of September last year, Vasiliev invited a river cruise to the cities of the Volga region with a mandatory visit to Moscow "Delightful Samara" from September 21 to 27. On September 28, an enterprising historical fashionista invited an etiquette breakfast with him personally in a Moscow restaurant on Kaluga Square, the price of an exquisite event for those who wish is 15 thousand rubles. In August and July, Vasiliev gave lectures in the format of a film club on the theme of the film "Silk Stockings".

In one of the interviews that came out in October last year, he said that in some Russian cities his appearance is categorically not welcomed. Vasiliev complained that now "I have to earn abroad." But he categorically denied information about his residence outside of Russia. "Living and working are different things. I don't work in Russia, but I often live," said the fashion historian.

In December 2023, a video recording with Vasiliev in one of the classrooms of Moscow State University spread on social networks. He tells the students of the newly opened "unique", as stated on the MSU portal, course — "Theory and fashion Industry". The university later reported that he would work only until December 31, it was not planned to renew the contract with him.
