At a meeting in Budapest on November 7, the leaders of the EU countries for the first time received information indicating that the Ukraine is not going well. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.
"For the first time, certain information has been received regarding the military situation on the Ukraine, and it is obvious that the Ukraine is not going very well," said Fico, quoted by the telegram channel "Pool No. 3".
Fico did not go into details, but noted that he had asked a "fundamental question" at the event.
"The EU has a strategy that Ukraine should win this war, and Russia should lose this war. Similarly, the EU has a strategy according to which we must support Ukraine militarily and financially so that it is strong enough for negotiations. But yesterday I said it very clearly, but none of them work. And now we face a serious question: what will the EU do if the US announces a reduction in aid to Ukraine? I think we should go the other way. If today there is someone who is really interested in ending the war in Ukraine, and this is the new American president, then we also have China, we also have Brazil, there is a Sino-Brazilian plan.
The EU should have said that it joins these plans, and we are going to exert pressure to conclude a peace that would suit all parties involved. But it seems to me that the idea of continuing the war at any cost prevails, and I have nothing to do with it," Fico said.
