The deputy head of the department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of the DPRK and the sister of the country's leader Kim Jong-un, Kim Ye-jung, said that the violation of the parity of forces on the On the Korean peninsula and in the region would mean an immediate war, and therefore the DPRK's line of strengthening nuclear forces is the only right choice, the Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reports.
On November 3, South Korea, the United States and Japan, with the participation of an American B-1B bomber and fighter jets, conducted joint air exercises on Sunday over the waters east of the South Korean island of Jeju in response to the DPRK's test launch of a new intercontinental ballistic missile "Hwasong-19" last week.
"Today, the violation of the parity of forces between the enemies and us on the On the Korean peninsula and in the region, this immediately means war, this is an objective reality that cannot be denied," Kim Yo Jong said, criticizing the actions of South Korea, the United States and their allies.
Kim Yo Jong also mentioned the exercises of South Korea, Japan and the USA "Freedom Edge", the exercises on the nuclear operation "Iron Mace" with the simulation of a comprehensive nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and others. In total, more than 100 exercises over the past year, which, according to her, were aimed at the DPRK.
"A significant increase in the frequency of such dangerous military exercises has become a serious threat to the peace and security not only of our state, but also of the entire region," she stressed.
Kim Jong-un's sister recalled the record number of deployments of US strategic assets in the region recently, including the visit of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the first-ever transfer of the Vermont nuclear strategic submarine to the waters around the Korean Peninsula, and five flights of strategic nuclear bombers, including the B-52H.
"The DPRK's line of building up self—defense nuclear deterrence forces is the only and most accurate choice in the current situation, and we will never hesitate on this path," Kim Yo Jong summed up.
