At the Troyekurovsky cemetery in A monument to the People's Artist of the RSFSR, actress of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater Irina Miroshnichenko was unveiled in Moscow. The theater announced this in its telegram channel.

The opening ceremony was attended by the creators of the monument — sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov and designer, architect Tatyana Boronina, artistic director of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater Konstantin Khabensky, rector of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School Igor Zolotovitsky and director of the Moscow Art Theater Museum Pavel Vashchilin. The author decided to perpetuate the main work of Irina Miroshnichenko's life — serving the theater, in which she worked for more than half a century.

"I often remember Irina Petrovna's last anniversary at the Art Theater. We tried to make a real celebration, and Irina Petrovna was on stage, despite the fact that she was no longer feeling very well. Of course, we did not have time to implement all those plans that were connected with Irina Petrovna's theater, and this is our sorrow. I think that's why the sky is crying so much today," Khabensky said.

Zolotovitsky stressed that there simply does not exist in the world more "Moscow Art Theater" of such a level, so devoted to the theater with her whole life. She wanted to participate in everything, in all events. And on her anniversary she spoke not about herself, but about those who came to congratulate her.

"She knew how to rejoice in other people's successes, other people's victories, she always helped… She infected everyone with her energy, and this is not enough in the Art Theater now," recalls Vashchilin.

Irina Miroshnichenko died on August 3, 2023 at the age of 82.
