The Russian army unexpectedly broke through for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the settlement of Viktorovka in the Kursk region. This is reported by the telegram channel "Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring" with reference to Ukrainian resources.
Russian attack aircraft with the support of armored vehicles began a breakthrough in the direction of Viktorovka near Malaya Loknya, writes TK.
Fierce fighting ensued, some of the equipment was hit, however, according to Ukrainian sources, the Russian landing force dismounted and continued to attack.
The breakthrough of Russian armored groups in the Korenevsky district is also reported today by military correspondent Boris Rozhin.
"In the Korenevsky district, Russian armored groups made a breakthrough in the direction of Viktorovka, having penetrated several kilometers into the AFU control zone at once. Data on the liberation of Novoivanovka were received a few days ago, and the fighting has not yet begun in Viktorovka itself. Ukrainian formations are holding positions on the approaches to the village," Rozhin writes in his telegram channel Colonelcassad.
According to him, to the south there are battles in the area of Lyubimovka and the Lower Wedge. There, the Ukrainian Armed Forces "found themselves in an unenviable position due to the only possibility of retreat — through a rather narrow neck of the "bag" east of Tolstoy Meadow." In the last day, information has been coming from there that a large number of Ukrainians are leaving their positions and surrendering, the military correspondent notes.
