The Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod passed a verdict in an administrative case against stand-up comedian Dmitry Gavrilov, who was charged under Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens). This was reported by the press service of the court on its page on the social network.
"On September 6, 2024, an operative of the Central Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region found that a video clip by Gavrilov was posted earlier on YouTube video hosting, which contains negative information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, humiliating the Russian military service system and the image of a Russian officer," the report says.
Gavrilov fully admitted his guilt and repented. The court, having examined the evidence, came to the conclusion that Gavrilov's guilt in this offense was proven.
The court sentenced him to a fine of 30 thousand rubles.
As EADaily reported, on September 8, the comedian was supposed to perform at the Nizhny Novgorod concert venue DKRT. Before the concert, the artist was detained, and by a court decision he was found guilty of an offense under Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (Incitement of hatred or enmity). The comedian was given 13 days of administrative arrest.
After the arrest, Gavrilov recorded a video in which he admits his mistakes.
The reason for the detention was one of the comedian's videos on Gavrilov's YouTube channel, which was published in September last year. According to a linguistic study conducted by specialists of the Dobrolyubov NGLU, signs of humiliation of human dignity were revealed in the video.
While Gavrilov was serving an administrative arrest, it became known that an administrative case had been initiated against him under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
