"The operation in the Kursk region is a failure. This is the only direction where Ukrainians were able to use a large amount of equipment, since most of it was sent there. And this reserve has been largely used up," said Merkouris, quoted by RIA Novosti.

In the Kursk region, thousands of Ukrainians were killed or wounded in the fighting, the expert noted.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to hold their positions in the region for a long time and will come under attack during the Russian counteroffensive.
