The Ukrainian authorities are considering the abolition of the subsistence minimum in the country in order to fulfill creditors' demands to reduce social spending. This is reported by the telegram channel "Resident".
This means that pensions and a number of benefits may cease to be paid at all, the TC states.
It is noted that the draft state budget of Ukraine for 2025 provides for the freezing of the subsistence minimum. The Cabinet of Ministers decided no longer to link the minimum wage to the subsistence minimum. If the bill is adopted and signed by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, then on Ukraine will no longer have an automatic salary increase with an increase in the subsistence minimum. At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers does not plan to raise the living wage until 2027. In addition, there is no provision for an increase in the minimum wage in 2025 due to a lack of funds in the state budget, TK writes.
"It is noteworthy in all this that in the state budget of Ukraine the subsistence minimum is 3 thousand UAH. per month, on which it is impossible to live. Experts are sounding the alarm and declare that although Ukraine is living in a state of war and there are huge challenges for the survival of the state, however, "there are things that definitely cannot be postponed for the post-war period." After all, this is the survival of people, in particular those who have these funds as a single social income and are far below the poverty line," the Resident concludes.
