The enemy lost more than 400 people in the Kursk direction during the day — Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has released official information about the fighting in the Kursk region.

A special military summary in this area was published on Saturday, October 5, by the press service of the defense ministry.

It says that the units of the group of forces "North" continued their actions to defeat the enemy group, wedged into the territory of the Kursk region.

The formations of the 22nd, 41st and 115th mechanized, 17th Tank, 95th airborne Assault Brigades, 1st National Guard Brigade, 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 103rd and 129th Territorial Defense Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated.

Shdi battles in the areas of the settlements of Darino, Lyubimovka, Nikolaevo-Darino, Novy Put and Plekhovo.

Also, over the past day, the units of the grouping repelled two enemy counterattacks in the direction of the settlements of Lyubimovka and Obukhovka, and also prevented enemy attempts to counterattack in the direction of Kamyshevka and Plekhovo.

In addition, with the support of army aviation and artillery fire, two attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the border of the Russian Federation in the direction of the settlement of Novy Put were repulsed.

"Army aviation strikes and artillery fire defeated the concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 22nd, 41st, 61st and 115th mechanized, 17th Tank, 80th and 95th airborne Assault Brigades, the 1st National Guard Brigade, the 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 103rd, 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Bogdanovka, Guevo, Darino, Kolmakov, Kubatkin, Kruglenkoe, Lyubimovka, Martynovka, Melovy, Nikolaevo-Darino, Novy Put, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Tolstoy Meadow and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye," it says. in the report.

It is also reported that operational-tactical aviation and missile forces attacked the areas of concentration in Sumy region.

The strikes were carried out on the reserves of the 21st, 41st, 47th and 115th mechanized, 36th Marine Brigade, 80th and 95th airborne Assault Brigades, 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as the 101st and 103rd Territorial Defense Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The targets of the strikes were located in the areas of the settlements of Belovody, Bondarevshchina, Belaya Bereza, Belokopytovo, Boyaro-Lezhichi, Vodolagi, Katerinovka, Konotop, Miropole, Mars, Mirlogi, Pavlovka, Obody, Pavlovka, Rechki, Stepanovka, Sumy, Frunzenka, Khoten, Shpil and Yampol.

According to the Ministry of Defense, during the day the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 400 servicemen in this sector of the front. In addition, 16 armored vehicles were destroyed, including a tank and 15 armored combat vehicles, as well as five artillery pieces, including a French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery installation and a Bogdana self-propelled artillery installation, two vehicles, an electronic warfare station, a barrier engineering vehicle and an armored recovery vehicle. Seventeen servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered.

In total, during the hostilities in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 20,650 military personnel, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 885 armored combat vehicles, 582 vehicles, 170 artillery pieces, 33 multiple launch rocket launchers, including eight HIMARS and six MLRS manufactured by the United States, nine anti-aircraft launchers missile systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 44 electronic warfare stations, nine counter-battery radars, three air defense radars, 22 units of engineering and other equipment, of which 13 engineering barrage vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearance unit, as well as three armored repair and evacuation vehicles.
