As predicted by political scientists, the first-ever European Commissioner for defense began to generate double Russophobia, as they say, from the first working day.
On the eve of the European Commissioner for Defense and Security became the former Prime Minister of Lithuania, Russophobe with experience Andrius Kubilius. Apparently, the Baltic politician who went into circulation was attached precisely because of the rabid anti-Russian views. In an interview with Reuters, the new European official said:

This, according to Kubilius, is about spending up to 500 billion euros on "significantly improving the capabilities of the European defense industry." At the same time, the commissioner admits that there is an "extremely difficult task ahead" due to the unwillingness of a number of EU countries to give Brussels the right to vote in the organization of their defense industry.
