All constituent entities of Russia cannot be the subject of negotiations on Ukraine. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"The Russian regions are the territory of the Russian Federation — read our Constitution — and they are not the subject of any negotiations," she said, commenting on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement that the return of Crimea to Ukraine is allegedly a requirement of international law, TASS reports.
EADaily adds that Erdogan said today that "Turkey's support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine is unshakable," noting that "the return of Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law." The statements were made in the video message of the Turkish leader to the participants of the opening in In Kiev, the summit of the so-called Crimean platform.
Erdogan also announced further support for the Crimean Tatars: "I believe that additional steps will be taken in the coming period to strengthen the rights of the Crimean Tatars."
