The Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, divided the Pokrovsky direction into two so that it would remain "more stable" by opening a new one — Kurakhovskoe. This was stated by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Mariana Bezuglaya.

She snidely remarked that since Syrsky took office as commander-in-chief, the now full general had succeeded in opening and closing directions.

By the way, Bezuglaya made it clear that the Russian Armed Forces were not going to attack Sumy region, which, among other things, justified the invasion of Kursk by the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Commander-in-chief Vladimir Zelensky.
