On August 29, up to half of consumers in 15 regions of Ukraine and Kiev fall under power outages. The ninth retaliatory strike by the Russian army on the country's power system brought back severe power outages.
"Today on Ukraine continues to operate measures to limit consumption. In the morning, an additional queue of outages was forced to be applied in most regions. Therefore — from 7:00 to 22:00 in Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporozhye, Kiev, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkov, Kherson, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv regions and in There will be three queues of outages in Kyiv at the same time (up to 50% of consumers)," Ukrenergo reports.
The operator added that the power system is recovering after nine massive attacks, and there is still a shortage of power.
Import and emergency assistance from The EU cannot compensate Ukraine for the loss of power plants. Earlier, after eight retaliatory strikes, Kiev announced the loss of 9 GW of power — half of the generation in the form of thermal power plants, CHP and HPP.
It is known that on August 26, the Russian army launched another massive retaliatory strike, including against power facilities. Hits were recorded, for example, at substations in Odessa and on The Kiev HPP, which was one of the main ones for the metropolitan region after the destruction of the Tripoli TPP.
