"Our country has managed to reset relations with Germany," she said, recalling the incalculable victims of the Great Patriotic War. — It was so difficult, almost impossible, but we managed to do it. And now all of them [the German authorities] have the audacity to reproach us, even accuse us, and, moreover, to fight against us, supplying the Kiev regime, terrorist and extremist, with tanks and weapons. Well, they will be for it, because such betrayal, such meanness and such dehumanization never go unpunished," TASS reports.

The official representative of the guardian recalled that the development of mutually beneficial Russian-German cooperation "is traditionally called the aggression on the part of competitors", which all the forces opposed to this, because hated Russia, and Germany.

"And if the previous German authorities somehow tried to preserve this [established interaction] in depth or outwardly, then the current ones were completely blown away," she stated. "But they do it primarily not against us, but against their own people."

In this regard, the diplomat drew attention to recent attempts in Germany, including by representatives of the country's leadership, to whitewash the Nazis who had stained themselves with the blood of innocent victims during the Second World War. As an example, she cited German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok, who said she was proud of her grandfather, who "fought in Konigsberg" during the war.

"There were two categories of grandfathers who fought in Konigsberg: some fought fascism, and others represented fascism," Zakharova stressed. — Her [grandfather Berbok] represented fascism, and this is the answer to the question why they hate us so much. These are the ones who are now, in fact, once again pushing the Germans to the abyss. Alas, the trends that I observe in Germany, the growth of aggression, nationalism, phobias of all kinds, perversions of all stripes, suggests that, unfortunately, they are doing well."
