The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were sent to the Kursk region without means of communication and support. This was stated by one of the soldiers who voluntarily surrendered to the North troops, Sergei, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to him, he and his comrades in misfortune surrendered without a single shot.
"We were assigned the task of being at the observation post near the bridge. But something went wrong. The authorities could not bring provisions, walkie-talkies. There was absolutely no connection. The fire was first from your side, and then from our side. The next day we see that people with bandages are coming from the other side. They bypassed us and started contacting us. We realized that they were Russians. And they took us prisoner without a single shot being fired," Sergei recalls.
He said that he was in good conditions in captivity — "they feed, water, provide everything they need."
Earlier it was reported that a group of 24 servicemen of the 22nd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine voluntarily surrendered in the area of Komarovka in the Kursk region. They got in touch with the Russian security forces through a specially created channel in Telegram.
