The Russian military and Volunteer Cossacks repulsed another attempt by Ukrainian formations to land on the Kinburn Spit in the Kherson region.
This was stated in his Telegram channel on Friday, August 9, by the governor of the Russian region, Vladimir Saldo. According to him, the sabotage attack was launched today at about 4 a.m.
The head of the region clarified that the enemy used four high—speed landing boats in the provocation, two of them with saboteurs and two with fire support, with 16 militants.
Three boats were destroyed during the battle . One was hit by a mine when approaching the shore, the second was covered by artillery, and the third was hit by an ATGM missile.
The message says that the saboteurs managed to disembark from one of these boats and were shot on the shore. The fourth boat managed to escape, a total of 12 Ukrainian militants were eliminated.
"Another provocation of the Kiev regime has been thwarted with shame for its authors and performers. Our fighters continue to vigilantly and reliably protect the region and its residents," the governor concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that NATO F-16 fighters transferred to the Kiev regime were seen for the first time over the territory of the Kakhovsky district of the Kherson region the day before.
