The sawmill industry of Finland bordering Russia, according to the publication Helsingin Sanomat, was seriously affected after the cessation of deliveries of Russian products.
The source also informs that the ratio between the prices of logs and lumber has reached the highest level in the last 15 years. The data are provided with reference to the head of the Sawmill Industry Association Tino Aalto.
"The price of wood has increased significantly more than the price of the final product, that is, lumber. The ratio between the prices of logs and lumber has grown to the highest level in the last 15 years, which makes the economic situation very difficult," Mr. Aalto confirmed.
And the main reason for such a noticeable increase in prices is precisely the cessation of imports from Russia. Prices are rising for different categories and types of products, and this trend, industry experts are sure, will continue in the future.
