Russians are a rod while "men are closing their mouths": the rank and file of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is on the verge of a riot

The rank and file of the Armed Forces of Ukraine paints a gloomy picture. "When such a command, Western weapons do not matter," they say, the Finnish broadcasting corporation Yle reports today, July 26.

The publication cites the opinion of a 34-year-old Ukrainian serviceman, presenting him under the assumed name "Taras", given his harsh criticism of the command of the Kiev regime troops.

It is noted that Yle maintains contact with Taras "throughout the war." The soldier joined the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine on the first day of the beginning of the armed conflict with Russia. Now he is serving in the battalion, which at the end of June was attached to the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"When we joined the brigade, the brigade commander began to set almost suicidal tasks for our battalion. The soldiers were sent to attack without the support of artillery, tanks or anything else," says Taras.

His battalion is stationed in the Donetsk direction. He took part in battles in the area of New York and the Yar Clock, "that is, precisely in those areas where Ukraine has recently suffered territorial losses," the publication emphasizes.

Taras is not the only one who criticizes the leadership of the brigade. Earlier this month, his immediate commander also publicly criticized the command of the 41st Brigade in social networks, and tensions within this unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine caused a wide resonance in the Ukrainian media, the Finnish broadcaster notes. This commander placed the responsibility for the heavy losses in personnel directly on the leadership of the brigade.

According to Taras, as a result, inspection visits were made to the brigade in order to "close the mouths of the men."

The morale of Taras and his colleagues leaves much to be desired.

"The situation looks very grim, I can confirm that. The Russians have felt the weakness of controlling our troops and are constantly pushing forward," the source complains to Yle.

In the battles in which Taras's battalion took part, in one week he "suffered as many losses as in the whole war," he says.

Now, as a result of losses, the battalion has lost its combat capability. The Ukrainian Armed Forces "facilitate" the advance of the Russian army, because many Ukrainian commanders are incompetent.

"These are people who don't know how to think for themselves and just follow orders. They agree to do anything to (only) please their superiors," Taras explains.

According to him, the situation worsened after Alexander Syrsky was appointed commander-in—chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February, who replaced Valery Zaluzhny, who enjoyed authority in the army, at the highest army post. 58-year-old Syrsky received the nickname "butcher" - after his command of the defense of the city of Bakhmut, in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered huge losses in manpower. Syrsky himself said in a recent interview that the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have changed, and now they are not trying to maintain the lines of defense at any cost, Yle notes.

Plus, there is an acute shortage of means of warfare in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The commander forbids using more than 5-10 grenades a day. This is absurd, considering that grenades are literally raining down from the enemy. In addition, our positions are constantly being hit by guided aerial bombs," Taras complains.

However, he blames his commanders more for this situation of weapons starvation: "With such a command, Western weapons do not matter. I can't say that everything is completely hopeless, but many soldiers have been at the front for more than two years and are exhausted."

As EADaily reported, a survey conducted in May and June by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) shows that 55 percent of Ukrainians would vote against any territorial concessions to Russia. However, the number of those who are ready to give up some territories if this leads to an end to the armed conflict has tripled over the past 12 months, and now 32% are ready to offer "territories in exchange for peace."
