Ukrainian comedian Sergei Chirkov was forcibly removed from the stage of the Atlas Weekend music festival in Kiev when he read out Zelensky's 2019 election promises. This is reported by the portal "Country.ua" in the telegram channel.
According to eyewitnesses, the comedian simply read out quotes with promises of the end of the era of poverty, nepotism and the rapid end of hostilities. Zelensky put forward these theses during the debate five years ago. Chirkov did not give any ratings, he did not allow himself to joke on this topic either.
At this time, a guard approached the stand-up, took away the microphone and simply took it offstage.
Later, the organizers of Atlas Weekend apologized to the artist on their social media page. They called the incident an "unfortunate misunderstanding" and blamed the incident on the guard and his irrepressible initiative, "who exceeded his official authority and behaved unacceptably due to an erroneous interpretation of what was happening on stage."
"For our part, on behalf of the organizers, we publicly apologize to Sergey and his manager Daria for unprofessional and unethical behavior and violation of physical boundaries," the message says.
As reported by EADaily, the Atlas Weekend festival is the very event that this year was held in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in which the artist Andrei Danilko, known to the public under the pseudonym Verka Serduchka, refused to take part.
