Kamala's focus: Trumpism may be established in the United States for 12 years

For American citizens, and for the whole world, the nomination of Kamala Harris as a candidate for the presidency of the United States instead of Joe Biden is an exchange of an awl for soap, said the Americanist Vladimir Mozhegov.

According to him, such a castling would not have affected Washington's policy in any way if Harris had won.

"Kamala is no better than Biden. The only thing is that she is younger. But, unfortunately, this is a "girl" with the wind in her head, who performs no better than Biden, despite the fact that the old man has dementia. Her speeches were dubbed a "verbal salad" by the press, and all comments are not limited to discussing her proposals, but to trying to understand what she wanted to say at all. That is, this is a person who is not able to articulate thoughts clearly," the expert said on Channel Five.

In this regard, Mozhegov is sure that Harris is not capable of seriously competing with Donald Trump. The Republican is already openly laughing after the news of her candidacy, as he does not consider her a serious opponent, the political scientist noted.

According to Mozhegov, the Democratic Party is also aware of Harris' weakness as a presidential candidate, but they currently have no other candidate. The Democrats have a party congress ahead, which will be held on August 19-21, and before that time they need to make a final decision whether to nominate Harris or find someone else. The political scientist believes that one of the options for Democrats in this situation would be to find Harris a good vice president, and she herself would quietly "leave" over time. But the problem is that to do this, Harris first needs to defeat Trump, which she is unlikely to be able to do.

"So the game remains in the zugzwang: every next move can be even worse, which is what we see now — they changed the old man to don't understand what. Moreover, it is a scandal and a disgrace for the party to change a candidate who passed the primaries, passed the first presidential term, this did not happen in America at all. Let's see what the party will do next, but it is obvious that the crisis continues, and this situation of internal shaking is not going away. That is, the party is in a state of semi—collapse," concluded Mozhegov.

Political scientist and journalist Yuri Svetov believes that Harris will not even have to compete with Trump, because her candidacy at the upcoming congress will not be approved by her party colleagues.

According to the expert, right now a struggle is unfolding in the camp of Democrats between supporters and opponents of Harris' nomination. Among the first are those who previously supported Biden and the current head of state himself. Moreover, they have already begun to actively act: only the day before Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, and today the committees and funds to raise funds for his presidential nomination are urgently being renamed committees and funds for the nomination of Harris.

Also, according to Svetov, Harris's supporters may try to organize an online vote in her support in order to fix her nomination for president from the Democratic Party even before the congress in August.

A similar online vote, in violation of the established procedure, had previously been tried to support Biden's candidacy, the political scientist noted.

"Now they are trying to do the same trick on Harris: hold an online vote before August 1, declare her a candidate, and then, at the congress, it will be a formal story. I think they won't be allowed to do that. One of the key problems is that Barack Obama did not speak out in support of Harris, although Biden supported and the Clintons supported," Svetov explained.

The political scientist believes that Harris does not possess the qualities necessary for an American president in such a difficult era for the country, and this is understood in the United States. Svetov recalled that Harris at one time became a senator, and then vice president, not because of her business qualities or outstanding intellectual abilities. She owes her career to the fact that she was lucky to be born a black woman, as well as her punchy character.

"Her distinctive feature is her arrogance, shamelessness, the ability to break forward, no matter what. Is this enough to become president? I doubt it," the expert noted.

Harris' worthlessness as an official and manager is evidenced by the fact that she completely failed in the areas entrusted to her — the situation with border protection and illegal migrants, as well as the abortion bill, Svetov added.

Another disadvantage of Harris as a presidential candidate is her age. She is 59 years old, and she is much younger than 81-year-old Biden, but much older than 39-year-old James David Vance.

Trump has approved him as a vice presidential candidate and he may well become one of the contenders for the Republican presidential seat in 2028. And Democrats should also take this into account, Svetov stressed.

"The choice of Vance as Trump's vice presidential candidate means that Trumpism, if it wins the 2024 elections, has the opportunity to preserve itself and develop for 12 years: four years for Trump and eight years for Vance as the next president.

And Democrats should take this into account. They need to nominate a figure who will be able to fight in 2028 so that the party wins. And Kamala Harris, even if she can somehow be dragged into the presidency, will not give victory in the year 28," the expert explained.

According to Svetov, the Democrats need a candidate as powerful as Trump to win, who has been "soaked" as much as they could in recent years, but could not break and deprive the support of US citizens. The key to Trump's unsinkability, the expert believes, lies in his personal success and financial viability, which is very important for Americans, as well as in his fearlessness.

"He's not scared of shit. He speaks directly, head-on, about the problems that Americans are concerned about. He is strong and active. And this story is when they shoot at him, and he gets up and says: "Fight!“few people are capable of this. And the citizens of the United States want the Democrats to see the same active, active, capable person. Watch the videos of Trump and Harris: he says sensible things, puts forward proposals and ideas, and this one laughs obscenely and says some nonsense," Svetov noted.

Vance, a native of the outback, a man who, as Americans say, made himself, fought, and achieved financial independence, adds points to Trump. And besides, he is young — half the age of Trump. This means a lot to people, and the Democrats, if they want to win, need such candidates, the political scientist is sure.

Svetov believes that the Democratic Party should probably try to nominate California Governor Gavin Newsom against Trump, who was "saved" for the 2028 presidential election. He has a chance, given that he heads the largest state, which previously gave the country a president — Ronald Reagan. And even if Newsom loses this time, in four years he will have more potential, the political scientist argues.

Svetov also mentioned Pennsylvania Governor Joshua Shapiro and "a couple of female governors" as a possible Democratic candidate. In fact, if you "look well" in the camp of Democrats, then you can find candidates more worthy of Kamala Harris, the political scientist concluded.
