The commander of the Russian Tu-22M3 bomber, whom the Ukrainian special services tried to recruit to hijack the plane, told the details of the plan, which was developed by enemy intelligence.
Speaking on the eve of the Vesti program on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, the pilot said that he was asked to forcibly eject the other three crew members.
"I was offered to eject them forcibly, so to speak, in a humane way to eliminate them. That is, to actually kill," the pilot stressed.
According to the pilot, the Ukrainian special services contacted him back in October 2023 via Telegram. The military noted that the Ukrainian "curators" rushed the hijacking of the plane, but did not pay attention to the technical features of their plan.
At the same time, the "recruited" himself was stalling, telling the enemy special services that it was necessary to thoroughly prepare for the hijacking of a combat aircraft, and found out the coordinates. The operation was postponed all the time, as the airfields proposed by the Ukrainian side did not suit the "hijacker".
"Various airfields were offered, which, for certain reasons, were not suitable for our type of aircraft," the commander clarified.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the FSB of Russia stopped an attempted hijacking on Ukraine's Tu-22M3 strategic bomber. This operation was developed by Ukrainian intelligence with the support of the special services of NATO countries.
