Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has given Ukrainian officers a year to learn English.
According to the Head of the Department for Social and Humanitarian Policies of Ukraine’s Defense Minister Valentyn Fedichev, the officers will also have to acquire NATO standards. “For this purpose, they are not involved in a headquarter exercise held by foreign instructors,” Fedichev said.
According to EADaily , recently Poroshenko told the Supreme Rada that knowledge of English would be one of Ukraine’s strategic priorities. 2016 will be the year of English in Ukraine. Knowledge of English will also be the key criteria for those seeking public offices.
