Oleg Bugrov, the ex-minister of defense in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), was detained in Saint Petersburg on March 30 on suspicion of delivering counterfeit tubes of "Ust-Luga Oil” Company, part of businessman Gennady Timchenko’s holding. The ex-minister is facing criminal charges for large-scale fraud.
Bugrov was arrested for a month period by petition of the Investigation Service of the Federal Security Service Department for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. The law-enforcement does not comment on Bugrov’s arrest.
Oleg Bugrov’s activity was inspected in late summer of 2014 – the materials date back to that very period. The ex-minister of defense of the LPP was included in the sanction list introduced by the European Union on November 29, 2014. The individuals put on the sanctions list will be banned from entering EU and face freezing of assets at the EU banks.
