On February 20, following an agreement with the Nagorno Karabakh authorities, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact in the north of the Kuropatkino settlement, Martuni region, the Nagony Karabakh Republic (NKR), according to the press office of the unrecognized country’s Foreign Ministry.
Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria) monitored from the positions of the Karabakh Defense Army. Staff member of the OSCE CiO PR Office Peter Svedberg (Sweden) and Field Assistant Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic) participated in the monitoring from the opposite party.
The monitoring met schedule, with no ceasefire breaches registered. However, Azerbaijan failed to lead the OSCE Mission to its frontline positions.
In NKR, the Monitoring Mission was accompanied by representatives of the Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry of Karabakh.
