Parliamentarians of the People's Council of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) adopted a decision to recognize the independence of the South Ossetia.
Forty-two parliamentarians voted for the decision. “Ossetia has already recognized the independence of the LPR. We are making a return move and suggesting to recognize the Republic of South Ossetia as a sovereign country, as well as to establish diplomatic relations with it,” says Aleksey Karyakin, head of the LDR People's Council.
According to him, the relevant law will come into effect from the day of its signing.
