The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces sank the peaceful motor ship Yanina in the Black Sea. He stated this in his telegram channel.
"That night... the Russian container ship Yanina, which sailed under the Russian flag and had a carrying capacity of more than 100 thousand tons, was hit... it sank to the bottom," Zelensky writes.
Rosatom called the incident an act of maritime piracy. According to the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, the Yanina motor ship, owned by Fesco, part of Rosatom Corporation, was an ordinary peaceful container ship.
The vessel sank at night in the Black Sea about 130 nautical miles from Novorossiysk as a result of an attack by naval drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Likhachev, all 17 crew members were rescued.
"I would like to emphasize that it was the most ordinary peaceful container ship sailing in international waters and carrying civilian products — from frozen food to construction and finishing materials," said the head of Rosatom, quoted by Solovyov Live.
He thanked the international crew of the Delphinus vessel, led by the Egyptian captain, who, despite the threat from naval drones, headed to the crash site and rescued most of the sailors from the Ioannina.
