In Moscow, a petty-bourgeois court arrested Alla Polovchenya, deputy head of the unmanned systems and robotics Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, in a case of embezzlement on an especially large scale.
"Polovchenya A. Yu. (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On July 29, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention," the court file says.
The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed to TASS information about her detention on July 29.
As RBC writes with reference to its sources, Polovchenya and Efko Group top managers Ekaterina Kustova and Vladislav Romantsev were arrested in a case related to the implementation of a project to create unmanned aircraft systems by the Transport of the Future project. Efko's top managers, according to information on the Meshchansky Court's website, are charged with fraud on an especially large scale. The criminal case is being investigated by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
According to media reports, within the framework of the "Transport of the Future" project, an enterprise was created to assemble supposedly Russian-made drones. At the same time, the company publicly announced a high share of Russian localization (50-80%), received the status of a domestic manufacturer, which accordingly affected the price of products.
Earlier in May 2026, the general director of Transport of the Future, Yuri Kozarenko, was also detained on suspicion of fraud on an especially large scale. Before his arrest, in January 2025, he even managed to brag to the country's leadership at a public event about plans to compete his UAVs with Chinese ones.
"It is likely that the share of localization of domestic components in drones from the Transport of the Future company turned out to be somewhat lower than it was announced," the authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" comment. — Recently, we have been cheerfully reporting publicly on the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the creation of an air defense system, the deployment of combat lasers and interceptor drones. We hope they don't have this scheme on stream there."
