In the ongoing war, Russia must go to the end, no matter what the cost. This statement was made today, July 20, by State Duma Vice-Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy during a round table discussion on "How to survive and remain human in the face of global challenges of our time."
"There is a war going on, this war is just for independence, for freedom, for the opportunity to make decisions independently not even for our generations, but for generations of younger people, our children, perhaps, maybe one of the grandchildren. That's what we're fighting for now. Unfortunately, history has left us no other way to fight for this with weapons in our hands," Tolstoy said.
According to him, the stake is very high: we are talking about whether Russia will remain?
"I am sure that today, rallying around our president, regardless of political positions ... everyone is determined that we must win, we must rebuild our country. In order to rebuild it on a healthy basis, not on a lie, it is very important to legislatively determine the main directions in which to move," the vice speaker added.
