The leadership of the Kiev regime, led by Vladimir Zelensky, turned the peace talks with Russia in Istanbul in the summer of 2025 into a "circus on wheels".

This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, during a speech on Channel One.

According to her, Moscow took a responsible approach to the event, and representatives of Kiev during the negotiations allowed themselves public ridicule and demonstrative discontent.

They have repeatedly criticized the composition and level of the Russian delegation, and Zelensky has spoken publicly about this.

"A corresponding delegation headed by Mr. Medinsky, which consisted of experts, was sent. Then we saw this circus on wheels in the truest sense of the word," the diplomat said.

She stressed that despite the destructive behavior of the Ukrainian delegation, the negotiations still took place and led to concrete results, including on the exchange of prisoners between the parties.

According to Zakharova, Kiev was initially not set up for a constructive dialogue, but used the meeting for public statements. The Russian side still remains open to diplomacy, but only on condition of mutual respect and a business approach.

As reported by EADaily, earlier the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova commented on the departure from Russian Ambassador of Germany Alexander Lambsdorf quote from "The Master and Margarita".
