The number of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz on the Oman route has decreased to a minimum. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the data of the analytical company Kpler.
"The number of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz along the coast of Oman has decreased to a minimum. On Friday and Saturday, at least eight vessels were spotted turning around while passing through the Strait of Hormuz on the Oman route. Four of them then headed north, towards the Iranian route, and left the strait," the report said.
It is noted that according to Kpler, 19 vessels crossed the Strait of Hormuz in both directions on Saturday, but only one of them openly reported its passage through the strait along the Omani coast. At the same time, the company's calculation includes only recorded passages through the strait, and the figures may change as new cases of "secret" crossings with transponders turned off are confirmed.
Recall, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum on the night of June 18, which presupposes the end of the military conflict that began on February 28. The document also defines the time frame when the United States will lift the naval blockade, and Iran will restore shipping in The Strait of Hormuz.
