The American film company Universal Pictures has published a trailer for the fifth part of the animated franchise "Shrek", which is scheduled to premiere in June 2027. It is available on the studio's YouTube channel and the franchise channel.
The new part of the cartoon will be released 16 years after the previous one, Shrek Forever After.
The description of the video says that the familiar stars will voice their favorite characters: Shrek — Mark Myers, Donkey — Eddie Murphy, Fiona — Cameron Diaz. Also in the new part, viewers will hear the voices of Zendaya, who will voice the daughter of the green couple Felicia, as well as comedian Marcello Hernandez and actor Skyler Gizondo, who will give voices to her brothers.
It is specified that "Shrek 5" will be released in the summer of 2027.
As reported by EADaily, in May of this year it became known that DreamWorks is working on the sixth part of the franchise. No details about the production of this part are disclosed, details of the plot, casting and release date will be known after the release of Shrek 5.
