In Los Angeles, an attacker stabbed 81-year-old actor James Handy in the yard of his own home. This is reported by the New York Post portal.
According to the publication, the emergency 911 service received a call on the morning of June 3.
"I am the son of man, I have just killed a man of sin," the caller said.
The police immediately went to the block on Erwin Street in Tarzan. At the scene, law enforcement officers found the actor Handy with multiple stab wounds. The actor was rushed to the hospital, but died the same day.
The attacker turned out to be 44-year—old Michael Gledhill, the son of the actor's girlfriend, at the time of the attack he lived with his mother. He waved hello to the policemen who arrived at the scene of the tragedy and said that he was exactly the one they were looking for.
Gledhill was arrested on suspicion of murder. He can be released on bail in the amount of $ 2 million.
James Handy is known for the films "Jumanji", "K-9: Dog Work", "Top Gun", "Arachnophobia". His last notable work was the role of Jimmy the bartender in the blockbuster "Top Gun: Maverick".
