The Russian Ambassador in Warsaw was summoned to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 27. This was announced by the speaker of the Polish department Maciej Wevur.
The reason for the call in the Polish Foreign Ministry called "threats of intensification of attacks on Kiev." It is reported that the department stated to the Russian ambassador that they demand "to immediately stop the unjustified and illegal aggression, as well as to comply with international obligations."
"Russian attacks on diplomatic institutions in Ukraine would further reduce the role of Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council ... Russia itself declares that it is not waging war, but only a "special military operation." This means that its actions should be limited in scope exclusively to military facilities. However, Russia has repeatedly shown how it relates to such principles. And attacks on infrastructure, as well as — it is important to emphasize — on diplomatic missions, should be considered as unfriendly acts," said Vevure.
Recall, during the retaliation strike of Russia on the night of May 24, according to European structures, 300 buildings were damaged, including the headquarters of two Polish organizations involved in the promotion of Polish folk culture and teaching the Polish language. After that, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the strikes would intensify and called on foreigners, including diplomats, to leave the capital of Ukraine.
