Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the resignation of the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.
Gladkov resigned of his own accord .
It is noted that Alexander Shuvaev was appointed acting head of the region.
"To accept the resignation of the governor of the Belgorod region Gladkov V. V. at his own request. To appoint Alexander Mikhailovich Shuvaev as acting governor of the Belgorod Region until the person elected governor of the Belgorod Region takes office," the presidential decree says.
It is noted that the decree comes into force from the date of signing.
Alexander Shuvaev was born in Novy Oskol in the Belgorod region. He is a Hero of Russia, a major general, a SMO veteran, a participant in the second stream of the Time of Heroes program. Since January of this year he has held the position of vice-governor of the Irkutsk region.
