The new Soyuz-5 rocket opens up new prospects for Russia, allowing it to gain full space sovereignty. This is the opinion of Alexey Anpilogov, President of the Foundation for Support of Scientific Research and Development of Civil Initiatives "Foundation".
"In general, if you have such a carrier as Soyuz-5, you have the opportunity to launch blocks of the orbital station. That is, the project of the Russian separate orbital station is becoming a reality. In other words, Russia has a "workhorse" that will allow the country to fully acquire space sovereignty," Anpilogov explained.
According to him, Soyuz-5 will continue to be launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan."As part of the Baiterek project, Russia has created a rocket, and Kazakhstan has modernized the launch infrastructure.
As EADaily reported, the launch of the Soyuz-5 medium-class launch vehicle took place at the Baikonur cosmodrome on April 30 at 21:00 Moscow Time. This event made Kazakhstan a member of the club of space powers, said Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos.
